DON'T GET 2 CLOSE 2 MY FANTASY

don’t get 2 close 2 my fantasy is the second edition of our Artist curated Project (ACP) which started with the intention of fostering a dialogue and exploration around contemporary painting and its problematics. The program gives space to the gallery’s artists in order to develop exhibitions and to expand the dialogue with new generations.

This time Endy Hupperich is the artist curtaing or inviting other 16 artists, most of them Mexican, or foreigners living in Mexico. He refers to this exhibition with this words:

Everything is possible, may the game start. The participants are Mexican artists or foreign artists living in Mexico. Each of them has a special or peculiar artistic quality that it’s not apparently imposed by a qualified technique or craftsmanship, but by the questioning it arouses on the viewer about our visual habits. The game consists in looking, allowing and adventuring. The lived experience, the digestion of the everyday becomes painitng and object. The impulse comes of the constant examination of everything and nothing, from the graffiti to the romantic tropical dreams, from de casual to the exemplar. There are no rules, this is the rule. The artists throw their works to the arena, the viewer are the ones playing, and they can experience different stories. Just this time, there is no narrator.

With these in mind I invited these artists.

don’t get 2 close 2 my fantasy es la segunda exposición que forma parte de Artist Curated Project (ACP), programa que nace de la intención de fomentar el diálogo y la exploración en torno a la pintura contemporánea y sus problemáticas. El programa da espacio a los artistas de la galería para que desarrollen exposiciones y amplíen el diálogo con nuevas generaciones y agentes externos a la galeria.

En esta occasion Endy Hupperich es el curador de una exposición que incluye obra de 16 artistas, en su mayoria mexicanos o extranjeros residiendo en México. Hupperich se refiere a exta exposición cómo:

Todo es posible, el juego puede comenzar. Los participantes son artistas mexicanos o artistas residentes en México. Cada uno de ellos tiene una calidad artística especial que no se impone aparentemente por el genio de una artesanía calificada, sino por el interrogatorio de los hábitos de visualización y valores del espectador. El juego consiste en ver, permitir y aventurarse. Lo vivido, la experiencia digerida de la vida cotidiana se convierte en pintura y objeto. El impulso radica en el examen constante de todo y nada, del graffiti a los románticos sueños tropicales, de lo casual a lo ejemplar. No hay reglas, esa es la regla. Los artistas arrojan sus obras a la arena y los espectadores son los jugadores que pueden experimentar historias con ellas, solo que aquí no hay narrador.

Con esto en mente, he reunido a estos artistas para esta exposición.
