CONDO MEXICO CITY 2024

Galería Karen Huber in collaboration with 1969 Gallery (New York, NY, USA) is pleased to announce the return of the international initiative Condo to Mexico City. For this edition, we will showcase the work of two artists: July Guzman and Mark Ryan Chariker in our Project Room.
The initiative takes its name from "condominium" and invites international galleries to cooperate in order to evaluate existing exhibition models, pool resources and act together to propose a more conducive environment for experimental exhibitions. The guest gallery 1969 Gallery, was founded in September 2016 and is based in the Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan. Like us, its main focus is the representation and promotion of artists dedicated primarily to painting.
The juxtaposition of Guzman and Chariker's work creates a fascinating contrast between the abstract and the figurative, the serene and the narrative. While Guzman focuses on the exploration of shape and light conveying a playful sense of calm and contemplation, Chariker uses complexity as a tool to open windows into intricate inner worlds and emotionally charged scenes.

Galería Karen Huber en colaboración con 1969 Gallery (New York, NY, USA) se complace en anunciar el regreso de la iniciativa internacional Condo a la CDMX. Para esta edición presentaremos en la Sala de Proyectos la obra de dos artistas: July Guzman y Mark Ryan Chariker.
La iniciativa toma su nombre de "condominium" (condominio) e invita a galerías internacionales a cooperar con el fin de evaluar los modelos de exhibición existentes, unir recursos y actuar en conjunto para proponer un entorno más propicio para la realización de exposiciones experimentales. La galería huésped 1969 Gallery, fue fundada en septiembre de 2016 y tiene su sede en el barrio de Tribeca en Manhattan. Al igual que nosotres, su principal enfoque es la representación y difusión de artistas dedicados principalmente a la pintura.
La yuxtaposición de las obras de Guzmán y Chariker crea un fascinante contraste entre lo abstracto y lo figurativo, lo sereno y lo narrativo. Mientras Guzmán se centra en la exploración de la forma y la luz transmitiendo una sensación lúdica de calma contemplativa, Chariker utiliza la complejidad como herramienta para abrir ventanas a intrincados mundos interiores y escenas cargadas de significados.
